[If constructed in 1830 as recorded on the survey form, it could not have been built by Isaac Seaman. Isaac was born in about 1832 He was living with his parents, Abram (b. abt 1808) and Mary Seaman, in both the 1850 and 1860 censuses. On the 1873 map of Brookhaven Hamlet, the I. W. Seaman's property is shown adjacent to A. F. Seaman, to the north. A. F. is undoubtedly his father. The 1858 map does not indicate any Seaman properties in the Hamlet, so this source is not helpful. The survey form does not indicate from where the construction date was derived (perhaps the interviews?). If the construction date is sound, and if the house was indeed built by a Seaman, than it was likely built by Abram F. Seaman. If the house was built by Isaac Seaman, then it seems likely that it was constructed after 1860 and before 1873.] «» |
