A codicil dated November 6, 1757

.. to the will of Joseph Swezey copied from the original (see photograph). The original was owned by Mrs. Edna (Valentine) Bruce. It's present owner is unknown.

[I] Jos Swezey do alter what was in my last will, which was made in the year of our Lord one Thousand seven hundred and 56.  What is my negro wench, should be gave to my son Stephen — after my wife decease, and half part that I gave to my daughter Rebecca is of nine sheep.

According to George Miller, Francis Burto came to Fire Place in 1741.
