[There is uncertainty as to whether Zachariah married a Mary Mills or a Mary Biggs, or both; and which was the mother of Joseph.]
Hawkins comments:
'Book B of the Town records, printed page 319, shows that the wife of Zachariah Hawkins was Mary, daughter of Thomas Biggs, St. If he had as wife, Mary Mills, daughter of Jonathan Mills, as has been stated, she must have been a first wife, as the document attesting to Mary Biggs being a wife of Zachariah Hawkins was signed by Thomas Biggs, Sr. on Jan. 11, 1698 (Jan. 22, 1699, new style).
