Notes |
[There is an International Genealogical Index (IGI) record which indicates a marriage between an Ann Leek and what appears to be this Nelson Gerard. I believe it likely that the IGI record IS IN ERROR. When I was transcribing the 1850 census records for Fire Place, I thought it possible that Kezia was a first wife to Nelson, who died shortly after 1850. And that he then married Ann Leek. However, now that I have transcribed the 1860 census, I find that Kezia is still living in the household, and that there have been additional children. Some of the children of Nelson and Kezia have similar names to the IGI record for Nelson and Ann, others do not. And their birthdates do not well match. There is no mention of an Ann in the 1860 census. I have therefore deleted Ann Leek and the children ascribed to her from the Hamlet People database.]
