{Springs, East Hampton, Suffolk, NY} [6, 7] |
- [While one source recorded that he was born in the Town of Shelter Island, NY, I found no collaborating evidence. I think it more likely he was either born in Fire Place (near Springs), East Hampton, Suffolk, NY where his father was reported to have had a homestead, or Springs itself (these community boundaries do not appear to have been not well defined in the 18th century).]
