  	He was the proprietor of a Long Island House in Center Moriches (along with John Feriazzo). In July, 1930, the inn was raided by prohibition era Federal agents, and Gardner Murdock was arrested. The agents said they found "a huge cutting and bottling plant in a building in the rear of the hotel; and this was seized along with several five-gallon tins of alleged alcohol and a quantity of assorted whiskies and wines."
