  	At their meeting on 9 Sep 1933, the Brookhaven Village Association memorialized Forrest Reeve in their minutes as follows: As Brookhaven Village is unique in having had the same Postmaster for 46 years, and the same assistant Postmaster for 52 years, it seems appropriate that a resolution be adopted by the Brookhaven Village Association, at the termination of the Postmastership, and assistant Postmastership of Jacob L. Valentine and Forrest P. Reeve. Therefore be it resolved that — The neighbors and friends of Jacob L. Valentine and Forrest P. Reeve take the greatest pride in the perfect record which they have maintained with the office of the Postmaster General. —they have shown unfailing courtesy in their numberless contact with those who live in the vicinity. —their mature judgement has often been sought. —they have assumed to the full, their responsibility as citizens. It is therefore fitting that this recognition be given them on their retirement, made a part of the minutes of the Brookhaven Village Association, and copies thereof sent to Mr. Valentine and Mr. Reeve.

  Documents		Brook Store The general store now known as the Brook Store was established by Elizabeth Hulse Ellison about 1813, following the death of her husband. On her death is 1861, it passed to her grandson Hallock Bishop. In 1878 it was purchased by Charles Valentine and stayed in the Valentine family and his partner Forest Reeve until about 1916. When a Mr. Noble purchased the property in 1916, he moved the associated house to 3 Fire Place Neck Road (Historic Structure ID Br30B), and the store, by then called the "Brook Store," to its present location at 378 South Country Road. It is now owned by the Post-Morrow Foundation.
