Documents | Brook Store The general store now known as the Brook Store was established by Elizabeth Hulse Ellison about 1813, following the death of her husband. On her death is 1861, it passed to her grandson Hallock Bishop. In 1878 it was purchased by Charles Valentine and stayed in the Valentine family and his partner Forest Reeve until about 1916. When a Mr. Noble purchased the property in 1916, he moved the associated house to 3 Fire Place Neck Road (Historic Structure ID Br30B), and the store, by then called the "Brook Store," to its present location at 378 South Country Road. It is now owned by the Post-Morrow Foundation. | |
