Miss Eleanor Roberts Schumann of Sterling place and John Andres, Jr., of Northridge street were married Wednesday evening in the Emanuel Lutheran church by the Rev. Carl G. Gernannt. They were attended by Miss Edith Bowie and Christian Andres, brother of the bridegroom. They will reside on Northridge street. [S127] Advance, Long Island, 16 Dec 1943, p. 8. Dec 22 is the sixth anniversary of the marriage of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Andres of Patchogue. Mr. Andres has been employed by the Navy department at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, for the past nine months. Mrs. Andres, the former Eleanor Roberta Schulmann, is employed by the Bethleham Steel company as a draftswoman. The couple have one child, John W. Andres, Jr., who will be a year old on January 9. [S127] Advance, Long Island, 3 Dec 1953, p. 13. Robert Andres, 3rd, a native of Patchogue, died last Thursday at Mercy hospital in Rockville Centre after a short illness. Mr. Andres lived here until three years ago, when he moved to Massapequa. He was a repairman for Monroe Calculating Company. He served in the South Pacific in World War II in the Navy from 1943 to 1946, receiving his discharge as a water tender second class. He is survived by his wife, Mrsw. Ruth Andres of Massapequa; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Andres of Patchogue; two brothers, Christian Andres of Blue Point and John Andres, Jr. of Patchogue; two half-brothers, Edward Corrigan of Blue Point, and Frank Corrigan of Jamaica. Funeral services were held Monday morning at the Fairchild Funeral home in Garden City wit the Rev. Carl G. Gernanni, pastor of the Emmanuel Lutheran church in Patchogue, officiating, and a military burial wqs held at long Island National cemetery at Pinelawn. [S127] Advance, Long Island, 17 May 1962, p. 4. John G. Sandres, 80, of 59 North Ridge Street, Patchogue, died last Thursday in Brookhaven Memorial Hospital after an illness. Born in New York City, he was a retired collector with Consolidated Edison Company. Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth; two sons, John of Patchogue and Christian of Blue Point; two stepsons, Edward Corrigan of Riverhead and Frank Corrigan of Ozone Park; one sister, Mrs. Lillian McClellen of Paterson, N.J. and eight grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the C.W. Ruland& Sons funeral home of Patchogue with the Rev. Lammert Redelfs, pastor of thye Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Patchogue, officiating. Interment was on Saturday in Oaklawn Cemetery in Brookhaven hamlet.
