  	[It is not certain that this is the "Celia Swezey" identified in the the 1887 photograph of students at the Brookhaven Hamlet Public School No. 29. However, no other likely candidate has yet been found. Celia's family resided in nearby Middle Island, NY. An 1890 photograph of Public School No. 16 of Middle Island shows an older Celia. Her uncle Charles Swezey (her father's brother) resided in Brookhaven hamlet nearly adjacent to the school house. Perhaps in 1887 she stayed with her uncle while attending the Brookhaven school. There were strong family ties to Brookhaven hamlet; both her grandmother and great grandmother were of the Rose family—said to be the first permanent settlers in Brookhaven hamlet. Her cousin, William Sylvester Swezey, was named after her father, and would have been living with his parents at the time.]
