  	There is ambiguity as to her birth date. The date given here is as it appears on her grave stone. However, her age, as found in other sources, varies. The 1900 census records "Florence" as being born "Jan 1891" age 9. This is a date likely have been given to the enumerator by a parent, and at age 9, she obviously would not have been confused as an infant. On the other hand, an article in the Patchogue Advance, 31, May 1927 reported that "Floris" was a graduate of the class of 1916 of the Laurelton Hall school, Milford, CT. Since the school was a Catholic secondary school, the graduation date suggests a birthdate of about 1899-1900.
