Headstones | ![]() | #021.046.Munsell02: Mary wife of Thomas Hulse .. Mary's birth surname was Petty. She and Thomas Hulse were the parents of Fanny Munsell of the adjacent monument. The date on the gravestone has been interpreted as April 6, 1890, although it is an odd "9". Mary's interment would have been one of the first (if not the first) interments at the new Oaklawn cemetery if she were not first interred elsewhere. She is not listed among those removed from the Methodist cemetery to the Oaklawn cemetery when the Methodist cemetery was abandoned. Her husband, Thomas Hulse, predeceased her by twenty-eight years and was interred at the Presbyterian Church cemetery in South Haven, NY. Plot: Methodist |
#021.046.Munsell00: Munsell plot .. this plot contains only two grave monuments. One of the monuments (Fannie Munsell wife of George Munsell) is for an interment originally at the old Methodist cemetery Beaver Dam road, Brookhaven, NY and removed here. The other would have been one of the earliest for this cemetery (Mary Hulse wife of Thomas Hulse). The registered owner of the lot, Annie Bell Munsell, was Fannie and George Munsell's daughter. Mary (Petty) Hulse was Fannie's mother. Plot: 046. Miss Annie Bell Munsell |
