Headstones | ![]() | #021.042.Booth01: Deidamia (Booth) Hawkins, wife of Rev. Nathaniel Hawkins. .. Deidamia Booth was the second wife of the Rev. Nathaniel Hawkins. She died 24 years after he did. Ralph Clymer Hawkins in "A Hawkins Genealogy" recorded that she was interred "in the cemetery at Fireplace." Some interpreted this statement to mean the Nathaniel Hawkins cemetery (B039); however, a manuscript found in the records of the Oaklawn cemetery association indicates that she was first interred there. Later her grave was moved to the Oaklawn Cemetery (B021), Brookhaven, NY. when the Methodist cemetery was abandoned about 1890. Her gravestone has recently been repaired and conserved by the Oaklawn cemetery association. The Rev. Nathaniel Hawkins and his first wife have monuments at the Yaphank Village Cemetery (B022), Yaphank, NY. Plot: 042. Booth |
